Each year, the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government holds a Senior Intern Program, which educates residents about precisely where and how their tax money is being spent. Over the course of 4 days, the participants tour city hall and learn more about the processes of their local government. The program is free and offers seniors the opportunity to talk with key decision-makers in city government, participate in class activities and visit several government facilities. www.lexingtonky.gov/aging
